Routine Care
Dekton surfaces are easy to maintain. To ensure they remain beautiful and glossy for years to come, regularly clean the surface with a non-abrasive sponge using soap and warm water. Alternatively, you can use any pH-balanced general-purpose cleaner.
Precautions
When using glass cooktop cleaner, be sure to wipe the surface thoroughly with plenty of water and fresh cloths. A squeegee can help make the cleaning process more efficient. Always handle and store cleaning products with care, and adhere to the manufacturer’s guidelines for their use and storage.
Avoid contact with strong chemicals and solvents, especially hydrofluoric acid.
Although Dekton is highly scratch-resistant, using a cutting board is advisable. Direct cutting can result in grey marks, known as "metal transfer," which can be easily removed but are best avoided. Additionally, cutting on the surface may dull your knives, so using a cutting board will help protect them.
Spills
For tough spills, clean the surface using dish soap and scrub with a Scotch-Brite pad, then rinse with warm water. For dried substances like food, gum, nail polish, or paint, carefully scrape them off with a blade or putty knife, and then wash the area with soap and water. Any grey marks left by the blade can be easily removed using soap, water, or a glass cooktop cleaner.
Wine
Apply Q-Action to the affected area and allow it to sit for two minutes. Lightly rub the spot with a scourer sponge, rinse thoroughly with a damp cloth, and dry with a paper towel.
Wax
To remove substances like wax, shoe polish, rubber marks, dyes, markers, inks, and adhesives, you can use solvents such as lacquer thinner, acetone, rubbing alcohol, or mineral spirits.
Rust & Limescale
For rust removal, use acidic-based cleaners like vinegar and water or commercial acidic cleaners like CLR.
Smears
For smears, apply glass cooktop cleaner and wipe clean with plenty of water and fresh rags. A squeegee can also help. As always, handle cleaning products with care and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use and storage.
